NOTIFICATION
(CUSTOMS)
SRO.46(I)/2005.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), and in supersession of its notification No. S.R.O.17(I)/2005 dated the 1st January, 2005, the Federal Government is pleased to exempt 1[omitted) raw sugar falling under Heading 17.01 for the purposes of refining to white sugar from the whole of customs duty leviable under the First Schedule to the said Act subject to the following conditions, namely:-
(i) this exemption shall only be available to raw sugar imported in bulk i.e. not bagged;
(ii) this exemption shall not apply to raw sugar imported after 30th April,2005;
(iii) The raw sugar so imported shall be above 600 ICUMSA (a scale on which colour of sugar is measured) and a pre-shipment certificate to this effect shall be necessary;
(iv) The letter of credit opened shall be registered with the State Bank of Pakistan for the purposes of this notification 1[omitted]; and
(v) Letters of credit for import 1[Omitted) shall be opened only on C&F free out basis.
