(SALES TAX)
S.R.O 555 (1)/2002- In exercise of the power conferred by clause (a) of
sub-section (2) of section 13 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal
Government is pleased to exempt, the substances registered as drug under the
Drug Act,1976 (XXXI of 1976), and medicaments as are classifiable under any
heading of Chapter 30 of the First Schedule to the Custom Act, 1969 (IV of
1969) from the whole of sales tax leviable thereon except the following even if
medicated or medicinal in nature, namely:-
(a)
Filled infusion
solution bags imported with or without infusion giving sets;
(b)
Scrubs,
detergents and washing preparation;
(c)
Soft soap or
no-soap soap;
(d)
Adhesive plaster;
(e)
Surgical tapes;
(f)
Liquid paraffin;
(g)
disinfectnats;
(h)
cosmetics and
toilet preparations; and
(i)
absorbent cotton
wool.
2. This notification shall not entitle any person to claim
or take refund of any amount of sales tax already paid by or recovery from
him.\
3. This notification shall be take effect from 23rd August, 2002.
