NOTIFICATION

CUSTOMS

S.R.O. 208(I)/70.- In exercise of the powers conferrred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), the Central Government is pleased to exempt from the whole of the Customs-duties leviable thereunder all goods received, in the event of a natureal disaster or other catastrophe, as gifts and relief consignments by an organisation approved in this behalf by the Central Government or a Provincial Government for being distributed, free of Charge, by or under the control of such organisation among the victims of such disaster or catastrophe, subject to the following conditions, namely:-

(i) The goods are donated by a Foreign Government or Agency ;and

(ii) An officer or authority authorised in this behalf by the Central Government or a Provincial Government certifies that the goods are intended for the relief of victims of a natural disaster or other catastrophe.
